Laura Linney, best known for portraying strong, but vulnerable characters, is one of the most well-known American actors of today. As a teenager, she spent her time at the house of her father, she developed an interest in theater. Following her studies in Brown University for a while, then later at Juilliard School to study acting. After graduating from Brown University she started making her Broadway debut in the following year. In the space of two years from the time, her debut film hit the market, and following year, her debut on television. Innumerable appearances in movies, television shows and stage shows since. Her nominations include three Academy Awards, five Tony Awards, four Primetime Emmy Awards (including two Golden Globe Awards), and received several awards during her career. In spite of numerous awards, theatre has remained her first love and she is still appearing in stage and screen.
