She is vocal about the lack of action by the political and business elites and often uses visual analogies. In August 2018 Thunberg was able to take decisive action. The school was closed and she erected the sign 'School Strike For Climate and calmly sat down outside the Swedish Parliament. Her goal was to get officials to act on the global warming. Swedish media picked up on Thunbergs strike and news of her protest spread. In the following days, a plethora of students around the world took part in her #FridaysforFuture protests, skipping class on Fridays to protest against climate changes. Climate activists from all over the planet organized this Global Strike for Climate. The event was an enormous success; over 1.6 million participants from 125 countries took part
